Summer Spectacles

As many of you already know, I'm a proud spectacle-sporting lady, and have been for years. I do wear contacts from time to time, but with more and more fabulous frames to choose from lately I find that switching out different pairs of eyeglasses or sunglasses is a really fun way to change up my look. When the folks from SmartBuyGlasses.com got in touch to share some of their latest offerings, I jumped at the chance to pick out a few of my favourite pairs for summertime.

I have always loved the cat-eye style of frame, even before they burst back onto the scene as a real trend in eyewear. So of course I am delighted that there is so much more choice in this style of late. Unsurprisingly this pair of delicate Miu Miu sunnies caught my eye immediately. I'd love to pair them with an ideally bright and colourful look, perhaps to wear as a guest to a summer wedding. That said, I picture them looking perfect with a simple tee, blazer and jeans too. They're on trend and pretty but subtle - just right.

As an everyday glasses-wearer, I typically go for a neutral shade that blends in a bit more to my face so that my frames aren't the only thing people remember about my face. I think that's what drew me to this pair of Coach glasses. I think they'd go with just about any type of look, but I got a preppy vibe from them, and so imagined wearing them with an easy blazer, tank and shorts.

I always love a big glamourous pair of tortoiseshell frames for summer, and these sunglasses from Coach are a perfect fit in my opinion. I'd wear them with a feminine sundress, pastel polish and a flirtatious pair of heels like these beauties from Sophia Webster. Garden party ready? I think so.
