The Goals of Summer

Throughout each year (rather than simply at New Year's) I like to come up with a few goals for myself in order to improve or grow in certain aspects of my life. I was in the midst of pondering my intentions for things to accomplish this summer when I came upon this post by Madison of Telling Oceans sharing her list of things to do or work towards this season and I felt inspired to share my own list of summer hopes, plans and ambitions with all of you.

Health: Run a 5k race. Train for a 10 k, and then run a 10k race. Take up Yoga. Dance more.

Nutrition: Focus on clean, healthy eating. More fruit. More Veggies. Eat more salads. Visit the Farmer's market for local produce. Eat in. Try making at least 2 new recipes per month.

Creative: Sing. Write. Take photographs. Complete one tile mosaic before summer's end.

Emotional/Spiritual: Keep a journal. Walk outside daily. Commit to a daily devotional.

Last but not least: Read one (or two!) books a month. Meet 5 new people (one down!). Volunteer somewhere new.

Do you have any goals for the summer? Feel free to share in the comments if you do!

This is a wonderful list of goals, Rebecca! I hope you'll keep us posted on how they go as the season wears on. Personally, I have a lot of small ongoing goals throughout the year, simple things like eating clean at least five days a week and practising yoga regularly. But my big goal for this summer is to see, do and experience as much of Paris as possible while I can!

Great idea, I really need to do something similar to this as I feel I would get so much more accomplished this summer if I did! I need to work on the healthy eating too, it is so easy to get caught up in eating quick things that I tend to forget about the good that my body needs.

I love the idea of seasonal goals (and as a runner and a reader I'm 100% on board with the one you've shared)! Best of luck and keep us updated - now I'm off to make my own list : )
