Make-up and Hair: Savannah Belsher-MacLean Photos: Nancy Thomas Photography
I've been wanting to collaborate with local make-up artist Savannah Belsher-MacLean (who is also the talented designer behind Swoon Creations!) for a while now, and so when this week's Stylelist assignment was to attempt the metallic trend, so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to work with Savannah on a metallic beauty look.
She was super excited about the idea and we were extremely lucky to have Nancy take some photos for us in the studio. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. We started out with a simpler daytime look and moved towards a more dramatic eye, and the whole time I tried to pick Savannah's brain about each step, so I thought I'd ask this talented lady to share some of her tips recreating a similar version of this metallic eye for day or evening:
"During the daytime, go for golden or champagne metallic shadows on your eyelids, and nix the eye liner. This is a super wearable look, yet it still gives you some serious ‘bling factor’. We chose a combination of MAC Sumptuous Olive and a golden pigment powder by FACES.
For a simple transition into an evening look, add some coppers or deep bronzes in the creases of your lids and along your upper and lower lash lines, and add a black pencil or powder eye liner. We used MAC Sable.
Added tip: Want to go a little smokier? Try adding MAC Knight Divine in the creases of your lid and along the upper lash line."

A huge thanks to both Nancy Thomas Photography and Savannah Belsher-MacLean for your help making this post happen, and for just being so incredibly fun to work with. PEI is bursting with so much talent, it's seriously the best thing!
P.S. Congratulations to Teresa who won the gorgeous Swoon Creations giveaway! I'll be in touch with details!
